Global security landscape becoming increasingly precarious due to unstable, diverging worldviews, Italian defense minister says
G7 defense ministers on Saturday met in Italy as tensions rise in the Middle East and the war between Russia and Ukraine continues.
Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto highlighted the precarious global security situation, emphasizing that diverging worldviews are intensifying tensions worldwide.
Crosetto pointed out the Russian aggressions in Ukraine, turmoil in the Middle East, instability in sub-Saharan Africa, and tensions in the Indo-Pacific region as key contributors to the deteriorated security framework.
He noted that the clash between different worldviews is a significant factor driving tensions, with little optimism for short-term resolution.
