Fayose protests Ekiti PDP expulsion recommendation

Fayose protests Ekiti PDP expulsion recommendation

The Ekiti State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has recommended the expulsion of former Governor Ayodele Fayose from the party. The recommendation was submitted by the party’s caretaker committee chairman, Dare Adeleke, before the Chief Tom Ikimi-led PDP disciplinary committee. The party accused Fayose of anti-party activities, especially his support for the second-term bid of Governor Biodun Oyebanji, who belongs to the All Progressives Congress.

Fayose, speaking through his aide, dismissed the recommendation and challenged Adeleke’s authority. The PDP CTC chairman accused Fayose of misleading the public and aligning himself with an opposing party. He urged party members to remain focused on rebuilding the Ekiti PDP.

The controversy highlights the political upheaval in Ekiti State and the power struggles within the PDP. It also underscores the importance of party loyalty and unity in Nigerian politics.
