€4B transfer to Future Ireland Fund in 80 char

Exciting news from the State as the first annual payment of four billion euro is being transferred to the Future Ireland Fund. This fund was established to invest windfall gains obtained from taxing multinationals. The Government also set up another fund, the Infrastructure, Climate and Nature Fund, which has already received a payment of €2 billion.

Minister for Finance Jack Chambers is set to announce the details of this transfer later today. The aim is to transfer the equivalent of 0.8% of Gross Domestic Product annually to the Future Ireland Fund. The fund currently holds €4 billion, with plans to continue transfers until 2035, totaling an expected €70 billion.

The Future Ireland Fund is designed to support State expenditure starting from 2041, while the Infrastructure, Climate and Nature Fund will assist in case of financial decline and in environmental projects from 2026 to 2030. This strategic move aims to secure the future of Ireland’s economy and environment.
