French motorsport is set to make a comeback with Pierre Gosselin at the helm. The new president is prioritizing the restoration of the French Grand Prix to the Formula 1 calendar and bringing back the World Rally Championship (WRC) to France.
Despite being left off the calendar in 2023, Gosselin remains optimistic about the French Grand Prix’s return. He emphasized the need for government backing for the project to succeed, as without state financial guarantees, the event would face challenges.
Gosselin also aims to revive the World Rally Championship in France, highlighting the country’s rich rally history with legendary drivers such as Sebastien Ogier and Sebastien Loeb.
However, recent setbacks like Renault’s decision to stop supplying engines for Alpine by the end of 2025 present challenges for French motorsport. Nonetheless, Gosselin is determined to overcome these hurdles and bring back both prestigious events to France.
