Imo State Police Command Dislodges IPOB/ESN Terrorist Camp, Arrests 29 Suspects
The Imo State Police Command anti-Kidnapping Unit recently took down a suspected IPOB/ESN terrorist camp in Nempi, Oru West Local Government Area, resulting in the apprehension of 29 suspects, comprising 25 males and 4 females.
Acting on information obtained from a key suspect, Anukuru Nnana Emmanuel, the police were able to locate and dismantle the camp, seizing various dangerous items in the process, including firearms, ammunition, a Point of Sale machine, and local bulletproof charms.
Furthermore, over 200,000 naira believed to be proceeds from kidnapping operations was recovered. The Command reiterated its commitment to combating violent crimes and maintaining peace in the State, urging citizens to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
Efforts are underway to capture the producers of locally-made guns, as the investigation continues. The Imo State Police Command remains focused on ensuring public safety and taking decisive action against criminal elements.
