The Arava International Film Festival is set to take place from November 14-23 in the stunning Negev region, nestled between the Dead Sea and the Red Sea. This open-air event will showcase a selection of feature films each night, ranging from contemporary masterpieces to timeless classics and Israeli favorites.
Despite the ongoing war, the organizers have decided to proceed with the festival as planned, aiming to provide a welcoming and inclusive space while hoping for the safe return of hostages and soldiers.
Highlights of the Festival
The festival will kick off with “I’m Still Here” by Brazilian director Walter Salles, known for “Central Station” and “The Motorcycle Diaries”. Other notable films in the lineup include Sean Baker’s “Anora” and Pedro Almodovar’s “The Room Next Door”, both award-winning films making their debut in Israel.
In addition to the modern hits, the festival will screen digitally restored classics like Francis Ford Coppola’s “The Conversation” and Akira Kurosawa’s timeless masterpiece, “The Seven Samurai”.
