Multan roof collapse kills 3, injures 3 in firework explosion – Pakistan

Three people were tragically killed and three others injured in Multan’s Aghapura area due to a roof collapse caused by an explosion of firework material stored in a house. The incident was confirmed by Multan City Police Officer (CPO) Sadiq Ali Dogar, who stated that the deceased were identified as Riaz, Mansha, and Safia Bano. The injured were promptly taken to Nishtar Hospital for treatment.

Relief efforts were swiftly initiated by teams from Multan Police, Rescue 1122, Crime Record Office (CRO), bomb disposal, and other authorities at the scene. CPO Dogar and Multan Deputy Commissioner Wasim Hamid Sindhu personally inspected the relief activities and the site of the incident.

Initial investigations suggest that the fireworks were being manufactured inside the house, leading to the tragic event. Further investigations are ongoing to ascertain the cause of the explosion.

The CPO extended his condolences to the bereaved family and instructed police officers to actively participate in the relief efforts. The presence of senior police officials, including SSP Operations Lieutenant General Kamran Amir Khan, SP Hasan Raza Khakhi, DSP Mazhar Haraj, and DSP Mamoon Ali, highlighted the seriousness of the situation.

This tragic incident serves as a reminder of the dangers associated with storing and manufacturing fireworks in residential areas.
