Italy’s Meloni suffers major blow on migrant camps in Albania

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s migrant processing deal with Albania faces a setback as courts ruled that migrants rescued at sea should be brought back to Italy. Despite EU claims of reduced irregular migration, Italy’s agreement with Albania aims to process and repatriate 3,000 migrants monthly, but at a high cost. In a similar vein, the Dutch government’s proposal to send rejected asylum seekers to Uganda faces complications as it catches leaders off guard. Uganda denies discussions on the matter, stating decisions will be made case by case.
