Israeli assault in northern Gaza’s Beit Lahiya leaves dozens dead | Israel-Palestine conflict update

An Israeli air attack in Beit Lahiya, northern Gaza Strip, has left at least 87 people dead or missing under debris. The raid hit houses and a residential building, causing severe casualties. Gaza’s Ministry of Health reported over 40 people injured and hampered rescue efforts due to communication blackout and road obstructions. The city is suffering from a lack of vital services and resources due to an Israeli military siege.

Witnesses described the attack as brutal, with many still trapped under rubble. Civil defence teams are working tirelessly to rescue survivors. Tragically, among the casualties were relatives of Al Jazeera’s correspondent. The assault on Beit Lahiya followed an earlier deadly attack on Jabalia, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in the region.

The UN and various international bodies have condemned the violence, calling for an immediate end to the attacks on civilians. The ongoing conflict has resulted in thousands of deaths and injuries, with many more still unaccounted for in the rubble of destroyed buildings.
