Iran and Tanzania recently concluded their fifth Joint Commission meeting, signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to boost trade and industrial cooperation between the two nations. The agreement aims to enhance collaboration in key areas such as transportation infrastructure, energy supply, raw materials, industrial machinery, mining equipment, and the pharmaceutical industry.
The meeting, which marked the return of the Joint Economic Commission after a 16-year gap, took place in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, with the presence of Iranian Minister of Agriculture Gholamreza Nouri Ghezeljeh. The event saw the signing of 11 cooperation documents by officials and private sector representatives from both countries, underscoring Iran’s commitment to strengthening ties with African nations like Tanzania.
Looking ahead, the sixth meeting of the Iran-Tanzania Joint Commission is scheduled for 2026 in Tehran, demonstrating the long-term commitment to deepening economic relations and mutual prosperity.
