France to deliver Mirage 2000 jets to Ukraine by early 2025
During a recent meeting with Ukrainian officials, French Defense Minister, Jean-Yves Barrot, announced that the first Mirage 2000 jets would be provided to Kyiv in the first quarter of 2025. France has been actively involved in training Ukrainian pilots and aircraft mechanics.
This development follows French President Emmanuel Macron’s plan to transfer Mirage 2000-5 fighter jets to Ukraine, with pilot training expected to take five to six months. The jets are set to begin arriving later this year, with French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu confirming aircraft supplies scheduled for the first half of 2025.
The transfer of Mirage 2000 jets from France to Ukraine is seen as a strategic move to support Kyiv in strengthening its defense capabilities. Reports suggest that France will send a maximum of six Mirage 2000 jets to Ukraine.
This initiative underscores the ongoing cooperation between France and Ukraine in the field of defense, further enhancing the strategic partnership between the two countries.
