Early morning on Sunday, Oct. 20, a drone attack targeted the Sverdlov Plant in Dzerzhinsk, a major Russian manufacturer of explosives. The plant, which is included in various countries’ sanctions lists, serves as a crucial supplier of industrial explosives and specialized equipment for the oil and gas industry.
The governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region reported that four employees of the plant’s fire department sustained minor shrapnel wounds during the attack, but have since been treated and released. Air defense and electronic warfare systems were utilized to fend off the UAV assault, and authorities are currently investigating the incident.
