The Czech volunteer soldier, Karel Kucera, who tragically lost his life in the battles near Bakhmut, Donetsk region, was honored posthumously with the Order of Courage III degree. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reported that a ceremony was held to present the award to Kucera’s parents in Praški grad. Kucera, a talented photographer, was killed in action at just 22 years old while bravely defending Ukraine from Russian aggression.
Ambassador Vasyl Zvarych expressed deep gratitude as he presented the award to Kucera’s parents, recognizing their son’s heroic sacrifice. The loss of Kucera, along with other foreign volunteers like Robert Deegan from Ireland, highlights the international support for Ukraine in its fight against Russian invasion forces.
