CM Maryam urges for polio eradication plan in Punjab-Pakistan

In a recent meeting regarding the elimination of polio in Punjab, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz emphasized the need for a practical and sustainable plan to eradicate environmental samples of the poliovirus. She stressed the importance of tracking and registering mobile and migrant populations in the region, as well as implementing an effective vaccination campaign at all entry points of Punjab.

With a goal of achieving a completely polio-free Punjab, Ms. Nawaz directed the compilation of accurate data on missing children during the vaccination campaign. She personally pledged to monitor the campaign closely, emphasizing that eradicating the poliovirus requires strong public support.

The chief minister also highlighted the importance of maintaining a cold chain according to SOPs during vaccinations and paying special attention to districts with weak coverage to prevent the spread of the virus.
