China’s President Xi Jinping orders enhanced military readiness
President Xi Jinping has directed China’s military to boost war readiness and combat capabilities, urging solid training and preparation for potential conflicts. During a visit to a brigade of the People’s Liberation Army’s Rocket Force, he emphasized the need to strengthen strategic deterrent and safeguard the country’s security.
The directive comes amid escalating tensions with the US over Taiwan, which China regards as a province. The US has been supporting Taiwan with arms sales, defying Beijing’s objections and further straining relations. Despite acknowledging the “One China” policy, Washington’s actions have sparked retaliatory measures from Beijing, including sanctions on US military contractors.
