During a meeting between Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy in Beijing, both diplomats emphasized the importance of respecting each other’s concerns and enhancing dialogue and understanding.
Wang Yi expressed China’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with the UK across various fields such as trade, finance, green development, and technology. He also highlighted the need for global powers to work together to address unprecedented challenges.
On the other hand, Lammy reiterated the UK’s dedication to engaging in constructive dialogue with China while managing differences in a mutually respectful manner. He also reaffirmed the UK’s commitment to its diplomatic relations concerning issues like Taiwan.
In addition to bilateral relations, the two officials discussed international conflicts such as the war in Ukraine, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and the situation in Myanmar.
