Attacks on Sumy power facility leave 100+ settlements without power

In Sumy region, an attack on a power facility by the enemy has left 104 settlements of the Romny community without electricity. Sumyoblenergo JSC reported the incident on Facebook, with more than 37,000 consumers affected by the temporary power outage. The Russian army’s aggression has also impacted over 14,000 electricity consumers in 130 settlements along the border areas in Sumy region. Efforts are underway to restore power to every home, as stated by Sumyoblenergo.

Valentyna Nazarenko, First Deputy Head of Romny District State Administration, confirmed that firefighters have contained the fire at the damaged energy facility. Thankfully, no casualties were reported, although damage to the private residential sector has occurred. Moreover, air defense successfully destroyed 11 kamikaze drones in Sumy region during the night.

The situation remains critical, but efforts are being made to address the challenges caused by the ongoing military aggression. The community of Romny is coming together to support one another during this difficult time.
