APC Rivers promises constructive criticism of Fubara’s government

Chief Tony Okocha, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Rivers Caretaker Committee, emphasized the party’s commitment to constructively criticizing the state government for the betterment of the people. During a forum at the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Okocha asserted the importance of the opposition party in checking the activities of the state government.

He highlighted the need for the APC to represent the voiceless through constructive criticism and address areas of concern within the state government. Okocha also expressed the party’s goal of weakening the opposition in preparation for the 2027 election, aiming for a smoother electoral process.

In response to allegations regarding the defection of 27 pro-Wike lawmakers to the APC, Okocha clarified that there was no concrete evidence of their membership within the party. The Federal High Court dismissed a suit seeking to replace these lawmakers, citing the lack of proof of their registration as APC members.

Okocha’s statements underscore the APC’s strategic approach to governance and electoral success, emphasizing the importance of accountability and transparency in political processes.
