China and UK Strengthen Bilateral Ties
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi recently met with British Foreign Secretary David Lammy in Beijing to discuss strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations. Wang highlighted the importance of China and the UK, as permanent members of the UN Security Council and major global economies, working together to address international challenges and promote national development.
Both sides expressed their commitment to upholding mutual understanding, respect, and cooperation in various fields such as trade, finance, and technology. Wang emphasized that issues related to Taiwan and Hong Kong are China’s internal affairs, and non-interference is crucial in international relations.
Lammy reaffirmed the UK’s dedication to fostering a respectful and mutually beneficial relationship with China while managing differences effectively. Both countries agree on the significance of maintaining high-level exchanges and dialogue to enhance cooperation and address global issues, such as the Ukraine crisis and the Palestine-Israel conflict.
