UK police conduct raid on journalist’s home – RT World News

UK counterterrorism police recently searched the London home of pro-Palestinian activist and journalist Asa Winstanley, seizing electronic devices under anti-terrorism laws. Winstanley, known for his criticism of Israel’s military operations in Gaza, had his home raided by officers armed with warrants and a letter stating that they were investigating possible offenses related to his social media posts.

The Electronic Intifada, a US-based website focusing on Palestine, reported that approximately ten officers arrived at Winstanley’s residence early in the morning to conduct the search. While Winstanley was not arrested or charged, his electronic devices were confiscated.

Winstanley, who has a large following on social media, often shares articles and opinions on Israeli actions against Palestinians and the British government’s involvement in the conflict. He has also written extensively about alleged incidents where Israel targeted its own citizens, attributing the deaths to Hamas.

This incident comes amidst a wave of arrests and raids targeting journalists and pro-Palestine activists in the UK. In August, British journalist Richard Medhurst was detained under anti-terrorism laws for expressing support for a proscribed organization but was later released.
