Israel promises US it will not target Iranian nuclear or oil facilities

The Biden administration has reportedly received assurances from Israel that they will not target Iranian nuclear or oil sites in retaliation for Iran’s recent missile attacks. To ease Israel’s concerns, the U.S. has deployed a Terminal High Altitude Area Defense battery and soldiers to operate it.

While Israel’s assurances are not guaranteed, the U.S. has warned that failure to increase humanitarian aid to Gaza could result in the loss of U.S. weapons funding. The escalating tensions in the region have raised fears of a full-scale war, with concerns over potential Israeli strikes on Iran’s nuclear program and oil sector.

Amidst the political divide over the conflict, Biden has emphasized his support for Israel’s security and urged them to consider alternatives to military action. Iran has expressed confidence in their ability to quickly recover from any potential damage to their nuclear facilities.
