Israel’s brutal offensive in northern Gaza’s Jabalia camp has intensified as soldiers from the Givati Brigade join the 162nd Division in the area, opening fire on Palestinian homes. The plan, developed by Major General Giora Eiland, aims to rid northern Gaza of its Palestinian population through violent means. Hamas describes the plan as “genocidal” and “depraved,” while the UN warns of critical levels of hunger among Gaza’s 1.8 million population. Despite efforts from several nations, a ceasefire has yet to be reached in Gaza. Thousands of Palestinians have been killed by Israel’s military onslaught, leading to accusations of genocide.
The ongoing siege in northern Gaza, which has seen hospitals closed and basic necessities prevented from entering the area, has resulted in the deaths of at least 28 Palestinians in a single day. With no engagement between Israel and Hamas, the situation in Gaza remains dire, with no end in sight to the violence and suffering.
