High possibility of war between Tel Aviv and Tehran: Turkish FM

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has issued a warning about the potential of a war between Israel and Iran, stating that there is a high likelihood of an outbreak. He emphasized the importance of being prepared for such a scenario as a country and a region to prevent further instability.

While Türkiye does not support any conflict that could escalate into war with Iran, Fidan acknowledged Iran’s right to defend itself. He also highlighted Türkiye’s efforts to promote regional development, stability, and prosperity through its foreign and security policies.

Regarding the death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, Ankara is awaiting confirmation from Hamas. Fidan expressed concerns about Israel’s military actions to eliminate perceived threats, urging for the prevention of a new front in the war.

Additionally, Türkiye has been urging the US to end cooperation with the PKK terror group. Fidan emphasized the importance of addressing these issues for the benefit of all parties involved.

Furthermore, Türkiye is focused on normalizing relations with Athens and is exploring ways to resolve issues through diplomatic talks. Fidan underscored the value of mutual respect and cooperation in reducing tensions between the two nations.

Lastly, Fidan emphasized the need for sincerity in strengthening NATO by not weakening Türkiye and highlighted Türkiye’s interest in joining BRICS as part of its expanding economic partnerships.
