China and UK Strengthen Dialogue and Cooperation
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy met in Beijing to discuss respecting each other’s concerns and enhancing understanding. Wang Yi emphasized the importance of dialogue and cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
Wang Yi expressed China’s willingness to continue working with the UK on mutual beneficial cooperation in trade, finance, green development, science and technology, health, education, and humanities. He also highlighted the need for major powers to work together to address global challenges.
Lammy reiterated the UK’s commitment to strengthening dialogue and cooperation with China while effectively managing differences. He assured that the UK will adhere to its commitments on diplomatic relations, including the Taiwan issue.
During the meeting, the two officials also discussed the war in Ukraine, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and the situation in Myanmar. Both countries agreed on the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the region.
