CAT Confirms Vikash Yadav’s Probation with Cabinet Secretariat; News18 Documents Display
News18 has accessed a CAT order dated November 29, 2023, confirming Vikash Yadav’s probation with the Directorate General of Security in the Cabinet Secretariat. The US indictment alleges that Yadav was involved in a foiled assassination plot of Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, a Khalistani separatist wanted by Indian authorities.

The CAT judgment referred to an Office Order approving Yadav’s probation completion and confirmation in the post of SFO (GD) in the Executive Cadre of DG (S) effective November 13, 2015. Despite previously working for the Cabinet Secretariat, the Indian government confirms Yadav is no longer employed.

Yadav met Raj Kumar Walia as an undercover agent, posing as an NIA official, before extorting money through kidnapping. After being arrested and spending time in Tihar Jail for the extortion case, Yadav is now out on bail as the case remains pending in court.

The FBI indictment depicts Yadav as a former employee of the Cabinet Secretariat and the CRPF with significant security and intelligence responsibilities.
