1,000 ‘Rovers’ Swarm Arusha on Day 1,000

Tanzania recently attempted to break the Guinness World Record for the largest lineup of Land Rovers in the city of Arusha. Over the weekend, organizers counted 1,035 Land Rovers participating in the event, including various series and models. However, the current record is held by Germany with 632 trucks in 2018.

The German event took place during the Abenteuer Allrad exhibition, covering 7.4 kilometers. Arusha’s parade stretched 12 kilometers, hoping for Guinness recognition. This event showcased the country as a tourist destination in East Africa.

Land Rovers have a significant presence in Tanzania, historically used for transportation and government purposes. The British brand has been synonymous with off-road capability and adventure in East Africa before the rise of other marques. Although the classic Land Rovers have been discontinued, the brand still represents luxury SUVs today.

Once appointed a Royal Warrant and honored with the Queen’s Award for Enterprise, Land Rover continues to be a beloved brand with a rich history in the automotive industry.
