Sweden has officially joined the IT Coalition to support Ukraine, with plans to provide two long-range radar detection aircraft. Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov shared this update on Facebook. Swedish Defense Minister Pål Jonson signed the declaration, highlighting the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries. Sweden’s commitment includes continuing military assistance and working on transferring the radar detection aircraft to Ukraine. Discussions also involved enhancing the Ukrainian Air Force and training units. Additionally, both countries are exploring cooperation in telecommunications and with Swedish defense companies. The Nordic-Baltic Eight countries recently pledged 44 million euros in aid to Ukraine, with a focus on purchasing generators and solar panels. This collaboration signifies a significant step towards bolstering Ukraine’s defense capabilities and fostering stronger ties between Sweden and Ukraine.
