SSPDF: Deadly Nasir Fight Erupts over Love Triangle

Love Triangle leads to Deadly Clashes in South Sudan

The South Sudan People’s Defense Forces (SSPDF) recently revealed that a tragic incident in Upper Nile State’s Nasir County, resulting in the death of 13 soldiers and 7 civilians, was triggered by a soldier’s affair with a colleague’s wife.

According to SSPDF Spokesperson, Maj. Gen. Lul Ruai Koang, the violence erupted due to a love entanglement involving two soldiers and a woman. The situation escalated when the soldier from Malakal discovered his wife had left him for another man in Nasir, leading to a fatal confrontation.

What started as a court case soon turned deadly as an ambush resulted in casualties among soldiers and civilians. Gen. Ruai emphasized that the clash was not politically motivated, but rather a tragic outcome of a love triangle gone wrong.

Despite efforts to resolve the situation through legal means, the incident serves as a grim reminder of the consequences of personal entanglements within the military. The aftermath of the clashes underscores the importance of maintaining discipline and upholding the law, even in the midst of personal turmoil.
