Russian President Vladimir Putin has decided not to attend the upcoming G20 summit in Brazil, citing concerns over an International Criminal Court (ICC) warrant issued against him for alleged war crimes in Ukraine. Despite calls from Ukraine for his arrest, Putin remains confident in his ability to avoid any legal consequences.
Putin expressed optimism about signing a bilateral agreement with Brazil to bypass the ICC warrant, emphasizing the strong relationship between the two countries. He assured that Russia would be represented at the summit by a suitable delegate.
Furthermore, in response to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s remarks regarding Ukraine’s security, Putin warned against any provocative actions. He also proposed Russia’s involvement in mediating conflicts in the Middle East.
