PTI Stands Firm Against Unlawful Constitutional Amendments
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader, Salman Akram Raja, reaffirmed the party’s opposition to the proposed constitutional amendments, deeming them unjust and unlawful. PTI vows to continue nationwide protests as a fundamental right, rejecting any groupings within the party ranks.
Raja criticized the parliament’s authority to pass constitutional amendments, stating the flawed process. He also lauded JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s proposed draft and warned against favoritism in the judiciary.
The PTI announced a nationwide protest on October 18, urging citizens to join in opposing the amendments. CM Ali Amin Gandapur of KP called for protests in every district for the release of PTI members and against unconstitutional changes.
The Punjab government implemented Section 144 to ban public gatherings for two days from October 18, citing security concerns. The government prioritizes public safety and law and order to prevent any potential incidents during the protests.
