Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s proposed ‘victory plan’ to resolve the conflict with Russia has been met with skepticism by Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz. The plan includes joining NATO, more military aid, and using Western weapons against Russia. However, there is little enthusiasm for the plan due to war fatigue in the West. Kosiniak-Kamysz believes the plan does not offer a clear solution to Ukraine’s issues.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk also expressed doubt about the plan, stating that there is no agreement among EU leaders. While Zelensky’s proposal awaits evaluation until after the US election in November, there is uncertainty about Ukraine’s NATO membership. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban criticized the EU’s support for Ukraine and called for a ceasefire and peace talks instead.
On the other hand, Moscow has dismissed Zelensky’s plan as incoherent slogans that would bring misfortune to Ukraine. The proposal seems to face obstacles from both Western and Russian perspectives, casting doubt on its potential for success.
