The Pakistani-American Public Affairs Committee (PAKPAC USA) recently made headlines by endorsing former US President Donald Trump for the upcoming US elections on November 5. This endorsement comes in response to a perceived “legislative coup” orchestrated by the Pakistani government under the Biden administration, resulting in the removal of PTI founder Imran Khan from office.
PAKPAC USA, an organization advocating for Pakistan’s interests in the US Congress, aims to strengthen democracy in Pakistan. The committee believes that Trump is the candidate who will improve US-Pakistan relations, secure the release of political prisoners in Pakistan, and address democratic concerns in the region.
Despite denial by the US State Department, Imran Khan has accused the US of conspiring against his government. US Senator Chuck Schumer has raised concerns about Imran Khan’s safety and criticized his anti-American rhetoric, which has strained US-Pakistan relations.
