The Chief Judge of Oyo State, Justice Iyabo Yerima, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the Public and Private Development Center (PPDC) in expanding Court Administration and Case Management in the state. During a visit to her office in Ibadan, she assured the PPDC officials led by CEO Lucy Abagi of providing necessary logistics for project success.
Yerima emphasized the importance of efficient justice delivery and pledged adequate space for automated shelving systems. PPDC CEO Abagi expressed optimism in transforming the state’s criminal justice system and fostering transparency. The project aims to improve access to justice, share experiences, and reduce pre-trial detainees.
The team also met with the state’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Abiodun Aikomo, to discuss strategic measures for decongesting detention facilities. The collaboration between the government and PPDC seeks to address the root causes of crime and conflicts in the community for long-term sustainability.
