‘Luffy’ gang member on trial for robbing, killing 90-year-old

A 23-year-old man, Rikuto Nagata, faced charges of robbery resulting in death and other crimes in the first hearing held at the Tokyo District Court. Nagata was part of the notorious “Luffy” gang, responsible for numerous robberies and thefts across Japan.

In one tragic incident, Nagata and his accomplices broke into a house in Tokyo, resulting in the death of 90-year-old Kuniyo Oshio. The victim was found beaten to death, with valuable items stolen from her home.

During the lay judge trial, Nagata denied the allegations, claiming to be a pawn in the crime. His lawyer stated that Nagata felt deep remorse and intended to apologize to the victim’s family.

One of Nagata’s accomplices had already been convicted, while the other accomplices and gang leaders were awaiting trial. The brutal nature of the crime shocked the community and raised concerns about the increasing trend of violent crimes.

Justice must be served for the victim and her family, as the legal proceedings continue in the quest for closure and accountability.
