The Global South, representing 40% of global GDP and 85% of the world’s population, is gaining prominence in global affairs. The BRICS nations converged for their annual summit in Kazan, focusing on key issues affecting developing countries. The International Department of the CPC Central Committee and CMG organized the “Peace · Development · Security: Jointly Build a Prosperous World with a Shared Future” Global South Think Tanks Forum in Beijing.
Dignitaries, scholars, and media from 76 countries participated, both online and offline, discussing the future amidst global change. Leaders emphasized the Global South’s role in promoting inclusive globalization and its commitment to peace and development. Initiatives were proposed to strengthen cooperation, enhance equity, and address common challenges like climate change and economic stagnation.
China-Brazil collaboration in energy transition was lauded, underscoring the Global South’s potential for sustainable development. The forum called for unity, mutual trust, and joint efforts in building a peaceful and prosperous future for all.
