Former Afghanistan Vice President Amrullah Saleh criticized Islamic preacher Zakir Naik for supporting Taliban rule. Saleh advised Naik to adhere to Talibani practices if he aligns with them, including not wearing suits, restricting female participants, and more.
Saleh expressed disappointment in Naik’s remarks supporting the Taliban, calling it naive and having a narrow perspective. Naik had reportedly praised the Taliban at a public event in Pakistan.
Naik previously praised the Taliban for destroying Buddha statues in Afghanistan and labeled Buddhists as ‘drug-addicts’. He is currently on a visit to Pakistan and is wanted by Indian authorities for alleged money laundering and inciting extremism.
