DPRK Leader Calls South Korea “Foreign and Apparent Hostile Country,” Urges for Increased War-Fighting Capabilities
The top leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) made bold statements about South Korea, calling it “a foreign country and an apparent hostile country,” highlighting the strained inter-Korean relations. Kim Jong Un emphasized the need to ramp up war-fighting capabilities during a recent inspection trip to the 2nd Corps of the Korean People’s Army, as reported by the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, stressed the importance of maintaining combat readiness at the border and commended the troops for their dedication. He reiterated that South Korea is considered a foreign and hostile nation, leading to recent actions like blocking roads and railways to sever ties with Seoul.
The DPRK leader called for a focus on bolstering war capabilities and ensuring the security of the country amidst escalating tensions on the Korean Peninsula.
