Zelenskyy unveils victory plan to EU leaders

EU Summit Highlights: Ukraine’s Victory Plan and NATO Membership

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda expressed frustration over the lack of decisions in the West, while Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented his “victory plan” to EU leaders. However, NATO membership for Ukraine remains a contentious issue, with Lithuanian President advocating for it and the US opposing to avoid conflict with Russia.

Zelenskyy’s Demands for Taurus Cruise Missiles

Zelenskyy urged Western allies to provide longer-range weapons to target Russia, but so far, the US and Germany have refused. The focus remains on fighting Russian logistics within Russia itself to secure Ukraine’s victory.

Victory Plan Hinges on Allies

Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of allies’ support for his victory plan, which includes holding Russia accountable and aims to end the war by next year. However, challenges remain, such as Hungarian PM Viktor Orban blocking an EU loan for Ukraine.

Despite hurdles, efforts are underway to bolster Ukraine’s defense and push for peace negotiations on Ukrainian terms to end the conflict.
