Ukrainian President Pushes Forward with Victory Plan Amid Uncertainty over US Support

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine remains resolute in the face of Russia’s invasion, vowing to continue the fight even without the full support of Western allies. During a visit to Brussels, Zelenskyy reiterated his commitment to a second peace summit and announced a new deal with Greece to enhance F-16 training for Ukrainian pilots.

Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for Greece’s ongoing military support and stated that the country is prepared to meet Ukraine’s defense needs. He also met with European Council President Charles Michel to discuss his Victory Plan and plans to engage with NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte.

The Victory Plan outlined by Zelenskyy includes a proposal for expedited NATO membership for Ukraine, with the aim of ending the war by next year. Despite challenges in garnering increased support from European allies, Zelenskyy acknowledges the uncertainty surrounding US backing, particularly in light of the upcoming elections in November.
