US, UK air forces conduct 15 airstrikes on Yemen’s Sanaa, Saada within 80 characters.

In recent developments, the US and UK air forces conducted a series of 15 airstrikes in the capital Sanaa and Saada province in northern Yemen. The Houthi group-run media outlet, Al-Masirah TV, reported that six raids were carried out by the “US-UK aggressors” in different areas of Sanaa, with an additional nine airstrikes targeting locations in eastern Saada.

Although details on the extent of damage or casualties were not provided, it is known that Saada province is a stronghold for the Houthi group, who have controlled the capital Sanaa since 2014. In response to the airstrikes, Nasruddin Amer from the Houthi-run media office vowed to retaliate against the US and UK attacks, reaffirming support for Gaza and Lebanon.

US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin claimed that US B-2 bombers conducted “precision strikes” on underground weapons storage sites in Houthi-controlled Yemen. The airstrikes are said to be in response to Houthi attacks in the Red Sea, with occasional retaliations from the group.

Furthermore, the Houthi group has targeted Israeli ships in the Red Sea in solidarity with Gaza, declaring all American and British ships as military targets in response to the intervention by Washington and London.
