Turkey is set to conduct a comprehensive naval exercise in the Aegean, Mediterranean, and Black Sea from October 21 to 25, as announced by Turkish Defense Ministry spokesperson Zeki Akturk. The DENİZKURDU-I exercise aims to enhance the operational readiness, command and control efficiency, and joint interoperability of the Naval Forces.
This exercise will see the participation of 92 ships, seven submarines, 15 aircraft, 14 helicopters, and 22 drones, including live fire drills. It marks the second time this year that Turkey is conducting the DENİZKURDU-I naval exercise, which is typically held biennially. Ankara completed the previous exercise in two phases in January and May.
