Top commander laid to rest in Isfahan; IRGC warns of ‘painful’ retaliation to Israeli aggression

Tribute to Martyred Iranian General Abbas Nilforoushan

Brigadier General Abbas Nilforoushan, a former senior commander of Iran’s IRGC, was recently assassinated in an Israeli attack on Lebanon. Tens of thousands of people paid tribute to him in a mass funeral ceremony in his hometown of Isfahan. Mourners carried his coffin draped with the Iranian flag through the city, chanting anti-Israel and anti-America slogans in solidarity with Gaza and Lebanon.

General Nilforoushan was martyred alongside Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah in a heavy Israeli attack on Beirut. His body was mourned in Iraq, Tehran, and Mashhad before his burial in Isfahan.

In response to his assassination, Iran launched Operation True Promise II, targeting Israeli military and intelligence bases with ballistic missiles. IRGC Chief Commander Major General Hossein Salami warned Israel of a “painful” response if further aggression occurs.

The funeral highlighted the solidarity and strength of the resistance front against Israeli aggression, emphasizing that the martyrdom of leaders like Nilforoushan will not deter their resolve. The IRGC vows to defend Iran and respond forcefully to any attacks.
