Sinwar’s death sparks ‘day after Hamas’ era

Netanyahu Declares Killing of Hamas Leader a Major Milestone in the Ongoing War

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hailed the killing of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar as a turning point in the conflict, referring to it as the “beginning of the day after Hamas.” In a video statement, Netanyahu addressed Gaza’s residents, stating, “Sinwar ruined your lives,” and emphasizing that Hamas will no longer rule Gaza.

Netanyahu urged the release of hostages held by Hamas and promised to continue efforts to bring them home. He also called on Gaza residents to surrender and assured that those who comply will be allowed to leave in peace.

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant echoed Netanyahu’s sentiments, urging Gaza residents to surrender in light of Sinwar’s demise. The IDF and security forces were praised for their successful operation in eliminating the Hamas leader.

President Isaac Herzog underscored the need to retrieve the remaining hostages held by Hamas and emphasized the importance of working towards peace and stability in the region.

The elimination of Sinwar has been described as a significant victory, with calls for continued efforts towards achieving lasting peace in the region.
