The US and Canada have jointly designated the Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network a “sham charity” supporting the PFLP movement. Samidoun is accused of enabling fundraising for designated terrorist groups. The sanctions aim to suppress political organizing in support of Palestinian prisoners and the liberation of Palestine from occupation.
Samidoun, based in Vancouver, Canada, condemns the sanctions as an attack on Palestinian solidarity. It stands in solidarity with global liberation struggles, advocating for freedom for political prisoners and challenging imperialist complicity in war crimes. The US and Canada’s actions threaten to disrupt Palestine solidarity efforts and muzzle freedom of expression.
The NLG, a legal association, criticizes the crackdown on Samidoun, warning of the chilling effect on Palestine solidarity work and the global support for Palestinian liberation. The wave of repression underscores the urgency of supporting oppressed communities and resisting fascism.
