Russian airstrikes kill 10, injure 30 in Syria

Russian airstrikes in northwest Syria resulted in at least 10 deaths and 30 injuries, as reported by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. Among the casualties were 14 children, with attacks hitting a sawmill, furniture workshop, and olive presser near Idlib city.

Syria’s “White Helmets” recovered the bodies of those killed in the airstrikes, noting that the workshop attack specifically killed 10 civilians and wounded 32 others. The Russian military, backing Syria’s government, has not commented on the incident.

The region, under a cease-fire agreement between Russia and Türkiye since March 2020, has seen repeated violations but remains relatively stable. Despite international efforts to uphold the cease-fire, civilian casualties continue to rise in the war-torn area.
