“This would be a catastrophic development and a complete rejection of the existing postulates in the sphere of nuclear security.”
Russia has strongly cautioned Israel against any potential attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities. Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov emphasized the catastrophic consequences such an action could lead to, as reported by the state news agency TASS.
Addressing reporters, Ryabkov stated, “We have repeatedly warned and continue to warn and caution (Israel) against even hypothetically considering the possibility of an attack on (Iran’s) nuclear facilities and nuclear infrastructure.”
He further stressed, “This would be a catastrophic development and a complete rejection of the existing postulates in the sphere of nuclear security.”
‘Exercise Restraint’
Amid escalating tensions, Moscow urged all parties to exercise restraint in order to prevent a potential large-scale conflict in the Middle East. Israeli media reported preparations for a retaliatory strike on Iran following recent incidents.
Former officials in Israel have also advocated for military action against Iranian targets. The situation remains tense, with calls for caution and diplomacy being echoed by various international actors.
