Turkmenistan and Pakistan Strengthen Economic Partnership

In a recent meeting between Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and President Asif Ali Zardari of Pakistan, both countries identified economic partnership as a crucial aspect of their cooperation development. The discussions took place during the Turkmen delegation’s visit to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Council of Heads of Government meeting.

The two parties recognized the vast potential for enhancing trade turnover and expanding beneficial connections through their partnership. Emphasis was placed on ongoing projects such as the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline and the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP) power transmission line.

Finalizing bilateral agreements will ensure the successful implementation of these projects, which are pivotal for regional energy security and economic growth. Turkmenistan’s role as a major gas supplier is crucial in diversifying energy export routes and strengthening regional ties.

With Turkmenistan leading the way in the development of these projects, the partnership between Turkmenistan and Pakistan is poised for significant growth and mutual benefit.
