Pakistan, Turkmenistan to plan energy projects together

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, October 17. Pakistan and Turkmenistan are set to collaborate on developing a roadmap for joint initiatives in the energy sector, as announced by Turkmenistan’s Foreign Ministry.

During a meeting between Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and Pakistan’s Federal Minister of Energy Musadik Masood Malik, both countries highlighted the importance of projects like the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline and the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP) power transmission line in strengthening regional ties and meeting energy needs.

The officials expressed their commitment to maintaining ongoing communication for successful project implementation and fostering long-term cooperation.

Additionally, Turkmenistan’s delegation visited Islamabad as a guest of honor for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s Council of Heads of Government meeting. Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov also met with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari to discuss opportunities for expanding economic cooperation between the two nations.
