Among the candidates is Scottish lawyer Elish Angiolini, who led an inquiry into a high-profile case in London. Imran Khan, an Oxford alumni, spent time in prison on politically motivated charges and had expressed interest in the position. However, the university cited “exclusion criteria” in disqualifying him from the race.
