Nigerians displeased with current government

The Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, has criticized the economic policies of the Federal Government, stating that they have led to increased hardship in the country. Speaking at the launch of the Nigeria Development Update report by the World Bank in Abuja, he emphasized that the current economic policies are not yielding the desired results.

Highlighting that the revenues available to state governments are insufficient to address the challenges they face, Mohammed called for a return to basics. He stressed the need for budget programs and economic policies that would alleviate hardship and increase self-employment opportunities.

Alex Sienaert, lead economist of the World Bank in Nigeria, emphasized the importance of creating productive jobs to achieve economic growth. The World Bank Country Director for Nigeria, Dr. Ndiame Diop, supported the need for challenging but crucial reforms for the nation’s long-term stability.

In conclusion, it is clear that there is a pressing need for effective economic policies that will improve the standard of living for all Nigerians and create sustainable growth for the nation.
